An informal poll that put the question of bed location to houzz. You also may have a large bed a massive headboard a dresser and nightstands that. Positioning a bed between two windows however works well. Diagonal placement works well when you have the space.

Open windows can create uncomfortable drafts. You have at least one window and maybe more. But this design isn t always best it would look odd to locate a bed 25 feet from the window in a gigantic room. Plus the mirror gives the illusion of a bigger space.

Do not place a bed under a window if the window will frequently be open. The bed also should not be aligned with a door particularly the bedroom door as opposed to a closet door or bathroom door. The most traditional spot for the bed in a master bedroom is on the wall opposite the door. In fact it makes for a strong focal point especially when paired with dramatic drapery panels wall decor and striking shapes.

The best position for the bed in any bedroom regardless of its size is against the wall opposite the door and on the other side of the room with the foot of the bed extending into the room. We also tucked a floor length mirror into the corner for a natural light filled dressing spot. Stand in the center of your bedroom and slowly scan the entire room. The bed is usually centered on the wall but you can place it off center if there is a window or other fixed feature that limits your options.

In bedrooms there are limited ways to place something as big as a mastress and in many situations placing your bed in front of a window just works best.
